They're GOD's favourite beings, that's for sure!!!

A man asked-- What's "LOVE"? A 4-yr old girl gave dis cute rply.
"Luv is wen ur puppy licks ur face even aftr u left him alone the entire day..."

This is a very common SMS in circulation these days, but every time I get it, it makes me think. Why doesn't the puppy feel resentful towards you for leaving him alone the entire day? Why does he, day after day, so enthusiastically try to stop you from going to the office when he knows that you are going to go anyway? In other words, why does he love you so much and so unconditionally?

Check this video out… I saw it on youtube the other day...

The video is about two young boys who buy a lion cub from Harrods in London. They become bosom friends and share great times together playing in the backyard of a church. But the lion cub (Christian) quickly grows up and becomes too big for the boys to keep. The boys are then left with no alternative but to leave Christian in the jungles of Africa. An year later, the two boys want to visit him but are told that Christian is now the head of his own pride and as such is completely wild and would not remember them. Undaunted, they go anyway. And to see the enthusiasm with which Christian greets them, watch the video:)

Didn’t Christian wonder what caused his two best friends to suddenly abandon him? If yes, then why didn’t he harbour any ill feelings against them? Obviously, his unwavering trust in his two friends must have told him that his friends must have faced some huge dilemma; else they would never have abandoned him.

It might be in the nature of man to forget his parents & family; to satiate his needs and then forget his benefactors. Animals, however, value love over everything else. Show them a bit of love, a bit of care, and they’ll be ready to give their lives for you. While a pet can be your ultimate confidant (yes, he’ll share each and every sorrow & joy of yours), humans, however, have taken to the rat race with such a vengeance that they’ve let everything else (read their success, their career, their goals) supersede their emotions and sentiments—with the effect that these days nobody has the time nor the heart to celebrate someone else’s moment of joy.

Quite simply put, traits of thanklessness and back-stabbing are found only in humans, whereas animals are—to my mind—those creatures which God must have created with his own hands.

So, the next time you wish to abuse someone by calling him a “junglee” or a “jaanwar”, think again, again… and again… Maybe, it’s better to call him a “human” after all :P

I really loved this post and I am impressed... seriously!!!
I hadn't previously read that pup thing you said is floating around in some sms. The line about the pup reminded me of some thought I had read long back: "A dog licks those he loves and bites/growls at those he hates. This is so unlike humans who are incapable of showing pure emotion."
Anyway, this video, I believe, is such an apt depiction of true love, i can't get over it (and this is where i'll take the credit of being the one who shared it with you ;))
Also, since dad has been calling me synonyms of "junglee" for so long and telling me "insaan ban ja", I finally have 'my reasons' for rejecting such suggestions :p
Coming back to the post, I really think you did justification to the video.... and this was no small feat, since this has got to be one of the best videos ever!!!

touching video. wonder if there are any videos of lions eating ringmasters in circuses, of tigers mauling and young zebra and eating him alive, of spiders eating their mates etc.

we love to define life in convenient compartments. but i guess animals act according to instinct, and humans can be held responsible for their actions because they have a "conscience" and self awareness of acts.

...Arshdeep said...

@ pankaj

Of course, there are videos of lions eating ringmasters...There are even videos of elephants trampling their mahouts...all these videos r a mark of wat man has done.. he has even corrupted animals through his acts of cruelty..And that's why PETA has been introduced... I hope you know wat PETA is and what it stands for....

As far as spiders eating their mates r concerned, that is natural and that is how God has made them... Surely, u cant hold a lion or a tiger guilty for killing other animals in the jungle for food... Coz that is how God meant them to be...

So, here's hoping that man learns from the videos of lions eating their ringmasters that he should just leave animals alone if he cant be kind to them... coz animals are not so servile that wont retaliate watever u do to them...

@ pankaj
Not to forget, we also have videos of men killing each other, of cannibalism, of blasts n shootings, n how can we forget the masterpeice-the meltdown of WTC....

hey.. amaazing vid.. and a luvvly thought..NO idea y u felt that no1 wud agree wid u. the tragedy of this world is dat animals r more humane than humans. animals are the mute angels on this planet(unless provoked.. by humans of course) and humans the walking talking destruction capsules! i m reminded of a lovely vid i watched a long time ago. its abt 2 polar bears discussiing wat might hav caused global warming. its sad and i instantly felt ashamed of myself. it shows how mch animals trust humans.. and how dey r disappointed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDIP71Lviys
btw...didn't u feel that the tiger was showing partiality 2wards the guy in the white shirt.. i mean he was happy to c both of them but as soon as he saw the "white shirt", he went absolutely bonkers!!
keep writing babes.. u r good.. and u know it..tc! ;-)

wow !!wat an awesome thought .yes we are humans of course we are. Human-the master of all we dominate ,critisize, lie, hate,be jealous ,forget the people who love us, be selfish n self centered n still feel our pride to be called as a human isn't that funny n also it digusts....huh why do we think we are superior due to these qualities a big applause for our foolishness .....after readin this i think it would have been much better if i'd born as an animal rather than the master of all i would have been more dearer to the ALMIGHTY trust me..... arshdeep u have put in a deep thought which is a work of appriciation . we forget all the morale values which can be learnd n remembered with the company of these creatures who are beautiful not only externally but also have a pure heart alike humans ....

Anonymous said...

WOW!!!! WAT A DEEP THOUGHT U HAVE PUT IN ...we are humans of course we are n we are proud of that ....
HUMAN - the master of all we dominate, critisize, hate, complain,
be jealous, become self centered, selfishness grabs us n still , we forget people who love us dearly we feel our pride in it to be called as humans isn't that funny or that disgusts... huh!n still we are proud to be in human category, 2day i think it would have3 been better if i would have born as an animal who cares , loves , adores, n i also would have been more dearer to the ALMIGHTY .... wev must learn from these animalswho are beautiful externally n also have a heart of gold unlike humans.... today you have made us realize this fact that wat is the difference b\w them n us we cant be like them but humans must be in their company to learn or to remember the real morale values of life.....itz a work of appriciation arshdeep i am proud of u...

hi, yr u really worked 2 gud...... sumwhere, i read dat u take a dog nd bring it up, nd same u do wid human... d dog ll remember u later but human wont...... dis z d basic difference btw dog nd human.... nd truly yr, u doing really gud..... congratulations 4 such a wonderful work......

if whatever an animal does, is its essential nature because god made it so, doesnt that also apply to humans? humans are what they are, because thats exactly how god created them. the nature isnt really virtuous or benevolent as we wouldnt sometimes like to define it, it is really impassive to human emotion, or our definitions of "good" or "bad".

anyway, the video was real sweet, and i dont want play spoiltsport to a post which had a heart warming effect. also i agree, humans have no right to confine animals.

...Arshdeep said...

@ pankaj

hi... somehow, in the present day circumstances, i dont think i'd like to believe that humans are doing what God meant them to do and wat he wud have liked them to do... That thought, given all that is happening around us these days, is slightly disconcerting...

Anyways, thanks for dropping by to check out my blog... Do stay tuned in for more:)
